      Advice: Ober was nearly perfect Sunday, allowing just a single to Vladimir Guerrero in the bottom of the fourth inning, while his 10 punchouts were a season high. The right-hander has now recorded four quality starts over eight outings this season and since allowing eight runs against the Royals in his season debut, Ober has produced a 2.16 ERA with 44 strikeouts over 41.2 innings in his last seven starts.     • Solid over seven versus Twins
      Manoah (0-1) was tagged with a loss after he pitched seven innings, allowing three unearned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six in Sunday's 5-1 defeat to Minnesota.

      Advice: Manoah was in full command Sunday, tossing six scoreless frames to open his outing against the Twins. With one out in the top of the seventh inning, Max Kepler reached on a fielding error by Toronto's third baseman Ernie Clement and three runs later came around to score in the frame, all of which were unearned for Manoah. The 26-year-old struggled in his 2024 debut against the Nationals on May 5, giving up seven runs (six earned) over four innings, so Sunday's performance was certainly a welcomed one for the big right-hander.     • Bailey Ober strikes out 10 in gem versus Jays
      Bailey Ober pitched one-hit ball for 6 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out 10 as the Twins defeated the Blue Jays 5-1 on Sunday.

      Advice: It’s his second career 10-strikeout game, with the other coming against the White Sox in Sept. 2022. Ober opened this season with the very worst outing of his career, but since that eight-run barrage, he has a 2.16 ERA and a 44/7 K/BB ratio in 41 2/3 innings.     • Alek Manoah strong for seven in loss to Twins
      Alek Manoah took a tough loss after allowing three unearned runs over seven innings Sunday against the Twins.

      Advice: The runs all came on a Carlos Santana homer following an Ernie Clement error in the seventh. Manoah allowed four hits, walked one and struck out six. His velocity today wasn’t quite as good as his in his season debut last week, but he was still up about one mph from last year on all of his pitches and he induced 15 missed swings. We wouldn’t trust him in mixed leagues right now, but this has been pretty encouraging. Rotoworld Today, 1:30 pm

    • Pitches well in loss
      Miller (3-3) was stuck with the loss against Oakland on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

      Advice: All of the damage against Miller came in the top of the third, when the 25-year-old issued a leadoff walk to Lawrence Butler to open the frame, followed by back-to-back singles. The right-hander allowed only two hits outside of that inning and retired 10 of the final 12 batters he faced, but he still got stuck with his third loss of the season due to a lack of run support. Miller has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his eight starts this season and recorded his second-highest strikeout total of the campaign Saturday with nine punchouts.     • Bryce Miller posts nine strikeouts in loss to A’s
      Bryce Miller recorded nine strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings in a loss to the Athletics.

      Advice: Miller deserved a better fate in this one as he generated an eye-popping 17 swinging strikes, including six on his splitter alone, and finished with a strong 34 percent CSW. The 25-year-old righty has quietly taken a significant step forward this season, increasing his strikeout rate to 27.9 percent, while allowing two earned runs or fewer in six of his eight outings so far. He’ll bring a stellar 2.66 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 51/15 K/BB ratio across 47 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tough road tilt on Friday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 4:41 am

      Bednar gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning Saturday to record his seventh save of the season in a 10-9 win over the Cubs.

      Advice: The right-hander made things interesting, giving up back-to-back hits to begin the ninth and allowing the tying run to get to third base with two outs, but Bednar escaped the jam. He's converted his last six save chances but has been volatile while doing it, getting tagged for runs in five of 11 appearances over that stretch while posting an 8.38 ERA and 12:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings.       Skenes came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 10-9 win over the Cubs, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over four-plus innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: The 21-year-old right-hander displayed some nerves in his big-league debut, throwing only 54 of 84 pitches for strikes, but he flashed his upside right out of the gate by hitting triple digits on the radar gun on his first two career pitches and reaching 100 mph on five fastballs in total against the first batter he faced, eventually striking out Chicago leadoff man Mike Tauchman on a 100.9 mph four-seamer.       Advice: Skubal continued his run of excellence, recording his fifth straight quality start and picking up his fifth win without a loss on the season. The left-hander has built upon last year's breakout campaign to emerge as one of MLB's top hurlers and Detroit's undeniable staff ace.
