    • Hoping injury is minor
Riley (side) isn't overly concerned with his long-term availability after being removed early from Sunday's game, and he considers himself day-to-day, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Riley experienced left side tightness in batting practice Sunday and was ultimately removed from Atlanta's contest against the Mets in the fourth inning after going 1-for-2 at the plate. The third baseman doesn't know yet if he'll be sent for an MRI. With the team launching a three-game home series against the Cubs on Monday, there's a chance that Riley misses some, if not all, of the series as Atlanta will likely be cautious with the talented 26-year-old. • Austin Riley (side) hopeful to return this week
Austin Riley (side) told reporters on Sunday night that he’s hopeful to return to the Braves’ starting lineup at some point during the upcoming week.

Advice: Riley initially felt something in his side during batting practice but didn’t say anything. He then felt the discomfort again in the third inning on Sunday night and continued to play through it. Finally in the fifth inning, it was enough of a concern to mention something, which prompted his exit from the ballgame. He’ll probably miss a couple of games as a precautionary measure, but it doesn’t sound like Riley should require a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:29 pm

    • Austin Riley leaves game with left side tightness
Austin Riley was removed from Sunday night’s battle against the Mets in the fifth inning due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: The Braves are calling his exit precautionary, but there’s still cause for concern. It’s unlikely that the club will have any additional updates until Monday. Fantasy managers should be sure to have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Riley is forced to miss a couple of games. Zack Short replaced him at third base on Sunday and could be in line for increased action if Riley does miss any time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm

    • Exits early versus Mets
Riley was removed from Sunday's contest against the Mets in bottom of the fourth inning with left side tightness, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Riley's removal from the contest has been described as precautionary according to Atlanta. The third baseman finished his night going 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout. Riley's status will likely be updated following the conclusion of the team's series finale with New York. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:22 pm

    • Taking seat Sunday
Busch is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Busch had started each of the Cubs' first 10 games of May and the Pirates are bringing a lefty (Bailey Falter) to the hill Sunday, so Cubs manager Craig Counsell likely viewed it as an optimal time to give the 26-year-old the day off. Patrick Wisdom will check in for Busch at first base and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:43 am

    • Michael Busch gets Sunday off vs. Pirates
Michael Busch is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt against the Pirates.

Advice: Busch will get a break against left-hander Bailey Falter and the Pirates for Sunday’s finale. Patrick Wisdom will instead start at first and hit cleanup against Falter and the Bucs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:52 am

    • Ryan McMahon powers Rockies to win over Rangers
Ryan McMahon went 4-for-5 with an RBI on Saturday, leading the Rockies to an 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: McMahon served as Colorado’s primary offensive catalyst in this one, kicking off a six-run outburst in the seventh inning with an RBI single off Rangers reliever David Robertson. The 29-year-old corner infielder has been a steady, yet unspectacular, fantasy contributor for a couple seasons now. He’s off to a really nice start this year, batting .303/.391/.462 with 16 runs scored, five homers and 21 RBI through 170 plate appearances in 39 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:54 am

    • Breaks out with four hits
McMahon went 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: McMahon entered Saturday just 2-for-21 (.095) over his last six contests. The only downside to his performance in this contest was that all four hits were singles. The third baseman is up to a .303/.391/.462 slash line with five home runs, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and no stolen bases over 39 contests this season. He's never hit higher than .254 or slugged better than .450 in a full season, so the first quarter of the 2024 campaign has essentially been McMahon at his absolute best, which consequently raises a red flag for regression later in the year. • Smacks third home run
Castro went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI during Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

Advice: The 27-year-old hit a solo shot off George Kirby in the second inning to break an 0-for-11 stretch at the plate, and Castro's RBI triple in the fourth gave the Twins some extra insurance, making it a 4-1 ballgame. Castro is now slashing .346/.370/.692 with three RBI and three stolen bases across his last seven games. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:23 pm
