    • Homers among three hits
Pena went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 9-4 loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.

Advice: Pena had been in a small funk coming into the contest, going 2-for-14 over his previous four games. He bounced back Wednesday with his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign, which included his first long ball in May. Pena has been a pleasant surprise for Houston this season, slashing .326/.367/.464 with four homers, 14 RBI, 21 runs and five stolen bases through 147 plate appearances. • Moving to cleanup
Devers is expected to hit in the four-hole for the foreseeable future, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Devers slotted in at cleanup Wednesday and went 1-for-4 in a loss to Atlanta. He usually hits second in the order, but manager Alex Cora wants to separate the two lefties at the top -- Jarren Duran bats leadoff. Connor Wong hit second Wednesday against lefty Chris Sale, and Cora said he'll probably use Wilyer Abreu there against righties. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:49 pm

    • Another impressive outing
Stone (3-1) picked up the win Wednesday against Miami, allowing one run on six hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Outside of a solo homer to Bryan De La Cruz in the fourth inning, Stone was exceptional, yielding one run for a third consecutive start. He's lasted at least six innings in three straight outings, dragging his ERA down to 3.55 through 38.0 frames. With Bobby Miller (shoulder) nearing the start of a rehab assignment, Stone could only have a couple more go-arounds in the Dodgers' rotation, with a date at San Francisco on tap for Tuesday. • Suffers loss Wednesday
Lange (0-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit to take the loss in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning contest against the Guardians.

Advice: After recording the final out of the ninth inning, Lange had the unenviable task of pitching the bottom of the 10th with a runner starting on second base. The righty retired the first batter but then allowed a walk-off hit to Brayan Rocchio. There shouldn't be too much read into the loss, and Lange has pitched well all season, as he's sitting with a stellar 0.64 ERA across 14 innings. Lange should continue to see high-leverage work for the Tigers moving forward, and he could slide back into the closer role at some point if he keeps up the strong play. • Gets back in win column
Singer (3-1) earned the win Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Singer tallied his first win in five starts, yielding one run for a third consecutive outing. He settled in nicely after allowing doubles to the first two batters he faced, keeping the Brewers off the scoreboard following the first frame. Singer has allowed more than two runs in just one start this season and owns a 2.36 ERA with 46 strikeouts across 45.2 innings. He's lined up for a start in Seattle on Monday. • Jeremy Peña blasts solo homer in loss
Jeremy Peña went 3-for-4 with a solo homer against the Yankees on Wednesday.

Advice: Peña had a productive day at the plate against New York, collecting three hits on the day. He knocked a pair of base hits in the fourth and sixth innings, then took Victor González deep for a solo homer in the eighth. The 26-year-old shortstop is slashing .326/.367/.464 with four homers, 21 runs scored, 14 RBI, and five steals across 147 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:50 pm

    • Gavin Stone quiets Marlins to collect third win
Gavin Stone yielded one run over seven innings on Wednesday in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Stone was excellent during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Dodger Stadium, limiting Miami’s floundering lineup to just a fourth-inning solo shot from Bryan De La Cruz over seven frames. He finished with four strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 25-year-old former top pitching prospect has held his own this season in his first extended chance in the big leagues, compiling a respectable 3.55 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 27/13 K/BB ratio across 38 innings (seven starts). He’ll face the division-rival Giants on Tuesday his next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:32 pm
    • Brady Singer spins 5 1/3 frames to defeat Brewers
Brady Singer yielded one run over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Singer notched four strikeouts and also issued a pair of walks. He was lifted following just 89 pitches (58 strikes) after giving up a one-out single to Willy Adames in the sixth inning. He wasn’t overpowering, generating just four swinging strikes and finishing with a lackluster 26 percent CSW. The pedestrian strikeout rate means there’s some looming regression in the run-prevention department, but Singer has clearly established himself as a reliable back-end rotation option for fantasy managers. He’ll bring a solid 2.36 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 46/15 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a road tilt on Monday against the Mariners. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:56 pm

    • Alex Lange takes loss in 10th to Guardians
After the Tigers failed to score in the top of the inning, Alex Lange took a loss in the 10th against the Guardians on Wednesday.

Advice: The Tigers really mixed things up relief-wise in this one, turning to Jason Foley for two outs in the seventh and Joey Wentz for four outs through the eighth. Wentz allowed an unearned run, narrowing Detroit’s lead to one, and Andrew Chafin, given a rare chance to close, made that go away by giving up a homer to David Fry. Lange went on to get the final out of the ninth. In the 10th, he got an out on a sac bunt and then gave up the winning single. While Foley remains the favorite for saves in Detroit, it looks like this is going to be a frustrating situation going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:37 pm
