    • Brady Singer spins 5 1/3 frames to defeat Brewers
Brady Singer yielded one run over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Singer notched four strikeouts and also issued a pair of walks. He was lifted following just 89 pitches (58 strikes) after giving up a one-out single to Willy Adames in the sixth inning. He wasn’t overpowering, generating just four swingign strikes and finishing with a lackluster 26 percent CSW. The pedestrian strikeout rate means there’s some looming regression in the run-prevention department, but Singer has clearly established himself as a reliable back-end rotation option for fantasy managers. He’ll bring a solid 2.36 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 46/15 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a road tilt on Monday against the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 1:56 pm
    • Placed on IL
The Rays placed Pepiot on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left lower leg contusion.

Advice: The transaction is retroactive to Monday, so Pepiot could be activated as soon as May 21 if he makes a speedy recovery from the leg injury, which he suffered when he was hit by a line drive in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Mets. Taj Bradley (pectoral) was reinstated from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move and will be plugged into Pepiot's spot in the rotation beginning with Friday's game against the Yankees. • Rays place Ryan Pepiot (leg) on 15-day IL
Rays placed RHP Ryan Pepiot on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 6, with a left lower leg contusion.

Advice: Taj Bradley was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move and will make his 2024 regular season debut on Friday against the Yankees. Fortunately for fantasy managers, Pepiot should only need a minimum stint on the injured list and should be ready to jump right back into the Rays’ rotation when that time comes. • Receiving breather Wednesday
McNeil is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: McNeil is likely just sitting out as part of a planned rest day, as he had started each of the Mets' last 30 games dating back to April 5. Joey Wendle will fill in for McNeil at the keystone. Rotowire.com Today, 9:12 am

    • Delivers another quality start
Crawford came away with a no-decision Tuesday as the Red Sox fell 4-2 to Atlanta, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander held a tough opponent in check, aside from a two-run shot by Jarred Kelenic in the third inning, but Crawford left the mound after 87 pitches (58 strikes) with the score tied 2-2. It was his fourth straight quality start and fifth of the season, and Crawford will take a 1.75 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 46:15 K:BB through 46.1 innings into his next outing, which is schedule to come at home early next week against the Rays. • Heading to bench Wednesday
Vierling is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: After starting each of the last four games, Vierling will move to the bench to open up third base for Zach McKinstry. Vierling owns an .879 OPS over his last 10 games and should hang on to a near-everyday role at the hot corner until Gio Urshela (hamstring) returns from the injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 7:55 am

    • Likely to be placed on IL
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that the Rays are "likely" to place Pepiot on the 15-day injured list after the right-hander took a 107.5 mile-per-hour line drive off his left leg in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Mets, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: He'll likely be replaced in the Tampa Bay rotation by Taj Bradley (pectoral), who is on track to return from the IL to start this weekend against the Yankees. Pepiot isn't dealing with any structural damage to his leg after both an X-ray and CT scan came back negative, so he could be ready to return from the IL in the minimum 15 days once any lingering pain and soreness subsides. Over his seven starts this season, Pepiot has gone 3-2 with a 3.68 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 41:11 K:BB across 36.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:29 am

    • Takes first loss
Slaten (2-1) was tagged with Tuesday's loss, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one in a 4-2 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Slaten has pitched well out of the bullpen, allowing just two runs over his first 19 innings, but the heart of Atlanta's order got to him for that many in the eighth inning. Ozzie Albies worked him for a six-pitch walk to lead off the inning -- just the third walk allowed -- then Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna followed with hits. Slaten has a 1.80 ERA and 0.80 WHIP over 20 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 5:48 am

    • Plays hero with ninth-inning homer
Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Adames stepped up to the plate with Gary Sanchez and William Contreras aboard with two outs and the Brewers down 5-3, smacking a laser over the left-field wall for the go-ahead homer. The long ball was Adames' fourth in the last seven games, a stretch in which he's racked up 12 RBI and scored six times. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:24 pm
