Castro is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Castro will get a breather for the first time since April 15, ending a streak of 20 consecutive starts at four different positions (shortstop, third base, left field and center field). Third base and center field will likely be Castro's primary homes for the foreseeable future while Royce Lewis (quadricep) and Byron Buxton (knee) remain on the injured list. • Seeing steady playing time
DeLuca will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Since being activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, DeLuca has started in each of the Rays' ensuing six games while going 7-for-18 with three extra-base hits (one home run, one triple and one double), 10 RBI, three runs and two stolen bases. Tampa Bay is back to full strength in its outfield with Jose Siri recently returning from a two-game suspension and Josh Lowe coming off the IL on Monday, but DeLuca hasn't given any reason for manager Kevin Cash to take him out of the lineup just yet. Over the long haul, the right-handed-hitting DeLuca could settle into a short-side platoon role, but expect him to continue playing at least semi-regularly until his bat cools. • Solid again vs. Cleveland
Olson did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Guardians, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: It was another excellent outing from Olson, though he was ultimately stuck with the no-decision despite allowing just one hit, as the Tigers' bullpen couldn't protect a 4-2 lead. Olson is 0-4 on the year despite holding opponents to one earned run or fewer in five of his seven starts. He lowered his ERA to 2.52 with a 1.12 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB across 39.1 innings. Olson will look for better luck in his next turn in the rotation, currently scheduled for early next week against Miami. Rotowire.com Today, 2:20 pm

    • Brice Turang collects three hits in Brewers’ loss
Brice Turang went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Brewers’ loss to the Royals.

Advice: Turang capped off a three-hit performance with a run-scoring double off Royals reliever Tyler Duffey in the ninth inning, but wound up being stranded in scoring position representing the potential tying run. The 24-year-old speedster has made the most of his opportunity this season, emerging as Milwaukee’s everyday second baseman, posting an .826 OPS with two homers and 14 steals through 34 contests so far. • Reese Olson allows just one hit to Guardians
Reese Olson held the Guardians to two runs — one earned — and one hit over six innings on Wednesday.

Advice: Olson gave up six hard-hit balls, but five turned into groundouts and the other was a routine fly. The lone hit was a well-placed grounder from Austin Hedges that produced two runs after two walks and an error in the first. It’s Olson’s third straight strong outing, but he just can’t find his way into the win column. Left with a no-decision today after the bullpen blew a two-run lead, he’s 0-4 in spite of a 2.52 ERA. • Sits out Wednesday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: He'll be given a breather while Christian Vazquez starts behind the plate. Jeffers has been an excellent No. 1 fantasy catcher for his managers this season, hitting .299 with seven home runs and 26 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 12:39 pm

    • Cleared for rehab assignment
Gelof (oblique) will join Triple-A Las Vegas this weekend to begin a rehab assignment, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gelof has missed the last two weeks with a strained left oblique but has been upping his baseball activities in recent days and was spotted running the bases earlier Wednesday, per Gallegos. Because the young infielder hasn't missed much time, he shouldn't need too many at-bats in the minors before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 11:26 am

    • Posts three hits in win
Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 11-7 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Ramirez endured an 0-for-17 slump over a five-game stretch from April 30 to May 4, but he's bounced back by going 5-for-11 with two homers and five RBI over his last three contests. That slump has still left a mark -- the third baseman is slashing .245/.290/.448 on the year with seven homers, 30 RBI, five steals and 24 runs scored through 155 plate appearances. He's on track to get back over the 100-RBI mark after missing out in 2023. Rotowire.com Today, 9:55 am

    • Out against lefty
Schanuel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: With lefty Martin Perez on the bump for Pittsburgh, the lefty-hitting Schanuel will exit the starting nine for the series finale. Brandon Drury will slide over from his usual spot at the keystone and man first base in Schanuel's stead. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am
