    • Out against left-hander
Carter is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Athletics.

Advice: The Athletics are sending southpaw JP Sears to the hill, so the left-handed hitting Carter will begin the early game of the twin bill on the bench. He should be back in the lineup for the nightcap versus right-hander Osvaldo Bido. Rotowire.com Today, 10:44 am

    • Gets aboard three times
Witt went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Witt has three multi-hit efforts and four steals over six contests in May, batting .350 (7-for-20) for the month. While other members of the Royals' lineup have plateaued or cooled off altogether, Witt is still going strong from the No. 2 hole. He's slashing .319/.385/.542 with four home runs, 13 steals, 19 RBI and 33 runs scored over 37 games. Rotowire.com Today, 10:08 am

    • Lifts another homer
Naylor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 11-7 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Naylor has gone 6-for-24 with three homers and seven RBI over his last seven contests. He was swinging a hot bat earlier in the season, but he's traded a bit of contact for more power in recent weeks. Naylor is slashing .276/.364/.553 with nine homers, 28 RBI, 18 runs scored, seven doubles and two steals over 34 games. With top prospect Kyle Manzardo slumping to begin his major-league career, Naylor should continue to play on a near-everyday basis between first base and designated hitter. • Dominates Marlins over eight frames
Yamamoto improved to 4-1 in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five over eight innings.

Advice: Yamamoto gave up a first-pitch home run to Jazz Chisholm to open up the game and his only other blemish on the night came from another solo home run by Bryan De La Cruz in the sixth. He was incredibly efficient, needing 97 pitches to navigate through eight innings. It was his first time pitching past six innings as a major leaguer and he's now won four straight decisions since suffering a loss in his debut on March 21 versus the Padres in the Seoul Series. Removing the shaky outing in Korea, Yamamoto owns a 1.76 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 45:7 K:BB in 41 innings this season. He'll look to keep rolling next week in a projected road matchup against the Giants. • Lasts seven innings in no-decision
Imanaga didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against San Diego, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Imanaga allowed more than five hits for the first time this season and tied his season-high earned-run total, but it was hardly a disappointing start for the rookie, who's arguably been the best starter in baseball. He blanked the Padres through seven innings but allowed an infield single to Luis Arraez and a home run to Jurickson Profar in the eighth before being pulled. Imanaga has fanned seven or more batters in three straight starts, and the Cubs are 7-0 overall in his starts. The lefty is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Tuesday in Atlanta. • Excellent against Cincinnati
Gallen (4-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Reds, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Gallen had gone 11 days between starts after suffering a hamstring injury on April 26 against Seattle. He certainly looked healthy Tuesday, holding Cincinnati to one hit en route to his third scoreless outing this season. It's an encouraging effort from Gallen, who'd dropped his previous two starts, allowing eight runs over 10 innings in that span. He lowered his ERA to 2.84 with a 1.13 WHIP and 41:12 K:BB across seven starts (38 innings) this year. Gallen's currently in line for a road start Sunday against the Orioles in his next outing. • Imanaga dazzles with eight strikeouts vs. Padres
Shota Imanaga allowed two earned runs over seven innings while striking out eight in the Cubs’ 3-2 win over the Padres.

Advice: Imanaga was stellar again on a night where the Cubs only provided him one run on offense. Unfortunately, a disastrous eighth inning, which he entered with 95 pitches already on the ledger, quickly went awry for the lefty, who gave up a single a two-run homer to Jurickson Profar in the frame to get saddled with the loss. Outside of the disastrous eighth, Imanaga didn’t run into too much trouble in this one, stranding only one runner in scoring position while limiting the Padres to only singles through his first seven innings. He still sits at a perfect 5-0 on the season, but will look to earn his sixth win on Monday against the Braves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:22 pm

    • Gallen throws six shutout in win
Zac Gallen threw six shutout innings in a 6-2 win over the Reds, allowing just one hit while striking out six.

Advice: Gallen also walked three batters on the day and started just 11 of the 22 batters he faced with a strike. In fact, Gallen threw pitches in the strike zone just 46 percent of the time on the day; however, when he was able to get a pitch in the zone, the Reds had a really tough time making contact which led Gallen to post a 26 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. It wasn’t his sharpest outing, but he benefited from a Reds team that is having a tough time hitting anybody right now. The effort lowered Gallen’s ERA to 2.84, and he gets a much tougher test against the Orioles this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:32 pm

    • Naylor hits ninth homer in loss Tuesday
Josh Naylor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in the loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.

Advice: Naylor continues to rake as he improved his average to .276 and his OPS to .917 with his ninth home run Tuesday. He seems poised to cruise past his career-high 20 home runs this season. Naylor’s .276 ISO this season is 100 points above his career .176 ISO. He now has 28 RBI in 34 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:08 pm
