    • Oneil Cruz batting eighth Saturday vs. southpaw
Oneil Cruz is batting eighth on Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: It’s the lowest Cruz has batted in Pittsburgh’s lineup in quite some time as he’s been dropped down with lefty David Peterson on the mound for New York on Saturday afternoon. The 25-year-old shortstop has shown some signs of life lately, batting .292 (7-for-24) with one homer and one steal over his last seven games. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

    • Swipes 43rd bag
De La Cruz went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: It was the first time since June 16 that the 22-year-old has drawn multiple free passes, while the stolen base was his league-leading 43rd of the year -- 15 ahead of second-place Brice Turang. De La Cruz can be streaky, but he's red hot right now, slashing .352/.417/.704 over his last 13 games with 10 extra-base hits (four doubles, three triples and three homers), six steals, eight RBI and 13 runs. • Pablo Lopez surrenders six runs in defeat
Pablo López was tagged for six runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: López didn’t allow any extra-base hits tonight, but the singles were all bunched together. Four came in a three-run second inning that featured just one hard-hit ball. The remaining three runs all scored in the sixth after he allowed three singles to begin the inning and was pulled. The loss leaves him 8-7 with a 5.17 ERA, but that just makes him an excellent buy-low candidate in fantasy leagues, Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • Cole Ragans pitches well in no decision vs. COL
Cole Ragans didn’t factor into the decision despite allowing just two runs in seven innings with eight strikeouts against the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Ragans did walk three and gave up five hits, but for the most part, it was a very strong outing and a nice bounce back from his struggles against the Guardians (4 2/3 innings, five runs). The left-hander has shown that 2023 was no fluke with a 3.28 ERA and 134/37 K/BB over his 19 starts and 109 2/3 innings of work. He very well could — and should — be named an All-Star, but his last start before that game will come against the Red Sox on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:29 pm

    • Shelled for six runs in loss
Lopez (8-7) took the loss Friday against Houston, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Despite not allowing a homer, the Minnesota right-hander managed to yield six or more runs for the fourth time this season. Lopez generated a paltry eight whiffs out of his 91 pitches as Houston was dialed in on his arsenal. The 28-year-old now sports a disappointing 5.18 ERA across 99 innings on the season. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, tentatively scheduled to be versus the White Sox in Chicago. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:45 pm

    • Punches out eight in no-decision
Ragans did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-2 loss versus Colorado, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The Kansas City ace generated 21 whiffs en route to fanning eight, earning his 13th quality start in 18 appearances. Ragans has rounded into a Cy Young contender with his last 10 outings, firing a 2.52 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 77:21 K:BB across 60.2 innings. Overall, he sports a 3.28 ERA with a 134:37 K:BB across 109.2 innings on the year. The 26-year-old currently lines up to face the Red Sox on the road next weekend for his next outing. • Remaining in rotation
Scott is scheduled to start Monday's game in Pittsburgh.

Advice: After being called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday to make his first start for the Mets since May 30, Scott took a no-decision in a 7-5 loss to the Nationals, covering 5.2 innings while surrendering four earned runs on six hits and two walks. Despite the underwhelming results, Scott will get at least one more chance to make a case for a more permanent spot in the New York rotation. Through six outings with the Mets this season, Scott has gone 0-2 with a 4.32 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 33.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:10 am

    • Homers in Thursday's win
Ramos went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Ramos had a quiet stretch in the later part of June, but he's now bounced back with four multi-hit efforts over his last five games. In that span, he's hit two homers and two doubles while driving in five runs. The outfielder is at a .298/.373/.530 slash line with 12 long balls, 40 RBI, 24 runs scored and two stolen bases over 225 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:09 pm

    • Goes seven innings in win
Webb (7-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up both runs on three hits and a sacrifice fly in the first inning, then settled in to produce a strong start by not allowing a runner past second base for the next six frames. He's gone seven innings in six of his last eight starts as he continues to be an innings-eater at the top of the Giants' rotation. For the season, Webb has a 3.09 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 103:27 K:BB over 119.1 innings through 19 starts. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Blue Jays.
