      Advice: After returning to action for all three games against the Reds last weekend, Drury missed the past three contests against the Orioles due to a lingering left hamstring injury. The three-game absence, along with the Angels' off day Thursday, seems to have done the trick for Drury, as he'll start at DH for the series opener Friday versus Minnesota.       Advice: Vaughn singled in his first trip to the plate before stealing his first base of the season.       Salvador Perez blasted a two-run homer on Thursday, powering the Royals to a 2-1 win over the Blue Jays in a rain-shortened five-inning affair.

      Advice: Perez’s two-run blast off Toronto starter José Berríos wound up being enough for Kansas City as the two teams waited out a nearly four-hour rain delay before the contest was finally called.       Andrew Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

      Advice: The White Sox had nine hits and Vaughn was the only one with an extra-base hit when he laced a 103.3 mph shot off Simeon Woods-Richardson in the fourth inning. The 26-year-old is slashing a disappointing .170/.255/.216 on the season and has yet to grow into the power hitter that his prospect pedigree suggested he could be.       Advice: Abreu is on the bench for the third time in four games, with Jon Singleton getting the nod at first base in his place. It's clear at this point that Abreu's standing atop the depth chart is on thin ice, as the 37-year-old has followed up a disappointing 2023 campaign with an even more disastrous start to the 2024 season, as he's slashing .065/.132/.081 with a career-worst 25 percent strikeout rate across 68 plate appearances. First base/outfield prospect Joey Loperfido has gotten off to a hot start to the season at Triple-A Sugar Land and could soon be summoned to the big leagues if the Astros aren't confident in Abreu's ability to stage a turnaround and/or if Singleton proves to be a poor replacement for Abreu.
