    • Aaron Judge homers as Yanks crush Brewers
Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a blowout win Saturday over the Brewers.

Advice: Judge shellacked a two-run blast in the sixth inning for his fifth homer of the season. The 32-year-old has not enjoyed the best start to the season with a .190/.328/.390 slash, but it’s impossible to be too concerned with those numbers based on Judge’s track record. • Yordan Alvarez homers twice as Astros top Rockies
Yordan Alvarez crushed a pair of home runs and drove in three as the Astros walloped the Rockies 12-4 in Mexico City on Saturday night.

Advice: The 26-year-old slugger victimized Rockies’ right-hander Cal Quantrill in the third inning, demolishing a 461-foot (108.8 mph EV) two-run shot that gave the Astros a 3-2 lead that they would never relinquish. He also tacked on a 461-foot (113.0 mph) solo shot off of Tyler Kinley in the ninth inning. Alvarez finished the night 3-for-5 and is now hitting .283/.358/.509 to go along with seven homers and 17 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:34 pm

    • Ryan McMahon clubs two-run homer in loss Saturday
Ryan McMahon went 1-for-2 and clubbed a two-run homer on Saturday night as the Rockies fell to the Astros in Mexico City.

Advice: McMahon got the Rockies on the board first in this one, clobbering a mammoth 459-foot (108.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of Ronel Blanco in the first inning. He also drew a walk and struck out in the contest, participating in only the three true outcomes. He’s off to a tremendous start to the 2024 season, slashing .310/.393/.480 with four homers and 16 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 7:13 pm

    • Rocked by Reds
Lorenzen (2-1) took the loss Saturday, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over six-plus innings in an 8-4 loss to Cincinnati. He struck out three.

Advice: The veteran right-hander came out firing, striking out the first two batters he faced, but things began to go sideways for Lorenzen in the second frame. Even so, he'd put together a quality start through six innings, but manager Bruce Bochy let him begin the seventh and Lorenzen hit Tyler Stephenson with a pitch before serving up a homer to Jonathan India. He left the mound after exactly 100 pitches (68 strikes), and Lorenzen will take a 4.24 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB through 17 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Kansas City. • Pete Alonso blasts eighth homer in loss to Cardinals
Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 7-4 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Alonso cut the Cardinals lead to two runs with a two-run blast off Sonny Gray in the fifth inning. It was the eighth homer of the season for the 29-year-old slugger. He’s slashing .252/325/.515 with 14 RBI across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:36 pm

    • Michael Lorenzen allows five runs in loss to Reds
Michael Lorenzen allowed five runs with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Lorenzen opened with a clean first inning, but ran into some trouble in the second. He hit the leadoff man, then issued a walk before two hits and a sacrifice fly brought in two runs for the Reds. Cincinnati added a run with a pair of hits in the fourth. A two-run homer by Jonathan India in the seventh would knock Lorenzen from the game at 100 pitches. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 pm
    • MRI comes back clean
An MRI on Cobb's right shoulder came back negative Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Cobb was pulled off his throwing progression a few days ago after experiencing soreness in his shoulder, but he doesn't appear to be dealing with any structural damage. The 36-year-old veteran was moved to the 60-day injured list last Saturday as he continues to work his way back from an offseason hip procedure, and he's also battled elbow problems during his rehab process. He will be eligible to return beginning May 27, though it's unclear whether or not he will be ready to go by then. Rotowire.com Today, 2:48 pm

    • Alex Cobb MRI reveals no structural damage
The Giants announced Saturday that the MRI on the injured shoulder of right-hander Alex Cobb did not show any structural damage.

Advice: The Giants are hopeful that his discomfort will start to lessen soon and he’ll be able to resume his throwing program. There’s still no clear timeline for when we may see the 36-year-old hurler back on a big league mound, but this is at least a bit of encouraging news. Rotoworld Today, 2:31 pm

    • Won't start Saturday
Melendez is not in the Royals' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Melendez has gone 0-for-12 over his last four starts, reaching base once on a walk over that span. Dairon Blanco will start in left field and bat eighth against Tigers right-hander Casey Mize. Rotowire.com Today, 2:14 pm
