    • Swipes 13th bag
Volpe went 2-for-5 with a run and a stolen base Wednesday against Kansas City in an 11-5 victory.

Advice: Volpe led off the game with a single and then stole second base before later coming around to score. The theft was his 13th of the campaign, pushing him past the halfway point as he seeks to surpass last season's total of 24 steals. Volpe has reached base at a much higher clip this season -- he's currently posting a .335 OBP compared to last year's .283 mark. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:56 pm

    • Goes deep in rout
Torres went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk Wednesday in an 11-5 victory against Kansas City.

Advice: Torres further busted open the game for the Yankees with a three-run shot off Daniel Lynch in the seventh inning. The long ball was his second in June and his sixth overall this season. Four of the long balls have come over his past 21 contests after Torres went deep just twice over his initial 49 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:47 pm

    • Dazzles in no-decision
Miller allowed two hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Miller rebounded from his worst start of the year by producing his third scoreless outing in 2024. Two of those scoreless efforts have come over his three starts in June. The 25-year-old has a 3.48 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 80:24 K:BB over 82.2 innings through 14 starts this season as he continues to impress as part of the Mariners' strong rotation. Miller's next start is projected to be a challenging road outing in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:43 pm

    • Bryce Miller tosses seven scoreless vs. White Sox
Bryce Miller tossed seven shutout innings with eight strikeouts in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Miller was brilliant on Wednesday, holding the White Sox scoreless over seven frames. He scattered two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters on 12 whiffs, tossing 64-of-92 pitches for strikes. Miller unfortunately lost the win when the bullpen blew the one-run lead in the ninth. The 25-year-old right-hander has posted a solid 3.48 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and an 80/24 K/BB ratio across 82 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Guardians in Cleveland on Tuesday. • Gleyber Torres homers in blowout win over Royals
Gleyber Torres went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, two runs scored, and a walk in the Yankees’ 11-5 win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Advice: Torres came into this game with hits in 12 of his last 13 games. After drawing a walk and scoring in the first inning, he blasted a three-run homer off Daniel Lynch in the seventh to give the Yankees a commanding lead. The 27-year-old second baseman is slashing .231/.308/.345 with six homers, 33 runs scored, 25 RBI, and four steals across 287 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:05 pm

    • Strikes out six in no-decision
Civale did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Cubs, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with six strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Civale loaded the bases in the first inning but got out of the jam and pitched well other than a solo home run by Seiya Suzuki in the fourth inning. Civale left the game an out shy of a quality start with a 2-1 lead, but a Cody Bellinger three-run homer in the seventh prevented him from earning his first win since April 9. On the season, Civale now owns a 5.20 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 74:20 K:BB in 14 starts and lines up to start next Tuesday against the Twins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Aaron Civale holds Cubs to one run in no-decision
Aaron Civale held the Cubs to one run over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Wednesday.

Advice: Civale, who struck out six, left with a one-run lead, but it was quickly blown in the seventh. It’s not exactly true, but it does feel like Rays starters have about five wins between them this year. Civale has earned his losing record for the most part, but it’s kind of ridiculous that he hasn’t recorded a victory since Apr. 9. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Colton Cowser hits go-ahead homer in eighth
Colton Cowser came off the bench to hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth as the Orioles bested the Braves 4-2 on Wednesday.

Advice: Cowser was on the bench in favor of Austin Hays against a right-hander tonight, but that’s just not something the Orioles need to do with any real frequency. Even though Cowser’s numbers have come down after a hot start, his batted ball stats remain strong. He’s definitely one of the Orioles’ top three outfield options versus righties. • Spencer Schwellenbach goes six in quality start
Spencer Schwellenbach yielded two runs in six innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Orioles.

Advice: It’s the first quality start in three tries for Schwellenbach, though he had nothing to show for it afterwards. The Orioles were very aggressive in swinging at 49 of his 89 pitches, and while they swung and missed just nine times, they didn’t make much hard contact at all. Schwellenbach figures to remain in the rotation for now, and he’s a decent play in deeper leagues with the Tigers next on the schedule. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm
