    • Manny Machado (hip) remains out of Padres lineup
Manny Machado (hip) was held out of the Padres’ starting lineup for the third consecutive game on Saturday.

Advice: Unlike the previous two days though, Machado did participate in a full pregame workout with the team, indicating that his return is imminent. He should once again be available off the bench if needed on Saturday. Donovan Solano will start in his place at third base and bat fifth for the Brewers against Ryne Nelson and the Diamondbacks on Saturday evening in Arizona. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:16 pm

Machado (hip) isn't in the Padres' lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Machado will miss his third start in a row Saturday, although he was able to participate in pregame drills for the first time since straining his right hip flexor Wednesday, per Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune. Donovan Solano will continue to fill in for Machado at third base, batting fifth against right-hander Ryne Nelson. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:12 pm

    • Sitting Saturday
Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday versus Detroit.

Advice: Bauers will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored during Milwaukee's win in Friday's series opener. Rhys Hoskins will start at first and Christian Yelich will serve as the DH, allowing Jackson Chourio to start in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:08 pm

    • Counsell: Nico Hoerner has small fracture in hand
Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters Saturday that Nico Hoerner has been diagnosed with a small fracture in his right hand.

Advice: Counsell added that team doctors are comfortable with Hoerner returning to action if the pain and swelling subside in his right hand. It sounds like the club is going to take a few additional days before making a decision on whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. • Diagnosed with hand fracture
Manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that Hoerner has a small fracture in his hand, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Counsell noted that the team's doctors are comfortable with Hoerner playing through his injury once the swelling subsides, and the Cubs will wait a few days to see how his hand recovers before deciding on a potential IL move. Meanwhile, David Bote figures to see regular action at second base while Hoerner is sidelined. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:43 am

    • Sitting again Saturday
Hoerner (hand) isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Hoerner sat out Friday's game after getting hit in the hand by a pitch Thursday, and the issue seems to still be bothering him ahead of Saturday's contest. David Bote will start at second base and bat seventh while Hoerner recovers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:56 am

    • Nico Hoerner remains out Saturday with hand issue
Nico Hoerner (hand) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Additional X-rays on Hoerner’s hand were reportedly inconclusive on Friday after he had trouble gripping and swinging a bat. The 27-year-old was hit by a pitch during Thursday’s series opener and will sit out his second straight contest on Saturday afternoon. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment, but it wouldn’t be a total shock to see him land on the injured list at some point this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:39 am

    • Mendoza: Kodai Senga won’t return in first half
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed Saturday that Kodai Senga (shoulder) will not return prior to next month’s All-Star break.

Advice: It became apparent several weeks ago that Senga, who has been on the shelf since spring training due to a right shoulder issue, simply wasn’t making enough progress to return to New York prior to the All-Star break. The 31-year-old righty has been in a bit of a holding pattern working on his throwing mechanics and won’t progress to throwing a bullpen session until next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:44 am
