    • Likely out for Minnesota series
Rockies manager Bud Black suggested after Monday's 5-0 loss to the Twins that Diaz will likely miss the remaining two games of the series in Minnesota due to a strained left calf, MLB.com reports. "It's right in the belly of the calf, so we'll see," Black said of the injury Diaz suffered in the first inning of Monday's game. "He's been feeling it for a couple weeks. He's been able to manage it and [in Monday's game], I think just on that particular ground ball, out of the box, it got him. We'll see in a couple of days. Keith [Duggar, the team's head athletic trainer] wants to treat it for a day or two and see where we are."

Advice: Diaz was lifted from the game in the bottom of the first after he strained his calf while running out a groundball in his first at-bat of the night in the top of the frame. Jacob Stallings came on to replace Diaz and will presumably start behind the plate for the final two games in Minnesota, and Stallings could be headed for an extended run as the Rockies' No. 1 catcher if Diaz requires a stint on the injured list. Diaz will presumably be re-examined Thursday when the Rockies return to Colorado before the team makes a decision on his availability heading into this weekend's series versus the Pirates. Diaz has been one of the few bright spots for the Rockies this season, batting .303 with five home runs, 28 RBI and 20 runs in 55 games. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

    • Patrick Bailey reaches four times in Giants’ win
Patrick Bailey walked three times before singling in a run in the 10th as the Giants edged the Astros 4-3 on Monday.

Advice: Offense is down plenty as is, but it’d be even worse if not for the Manfred Man skewing scoring in extra innings; this was a 1-1 game after nine before five runs scored in the 10th. Austin Slater delivered the game-winner for the Giants then after Bailey tied up the game with a sharp single up the middle. Bailey has missed some time this year, but he’s probably been the Giants’ best player in batting .280/.357/.424 in 42 games and playing Gold Glove-quality defense behind the plate. • Nursing calf issue
Diaz left Monday's game against the Twins due to a left calf injury, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Diaz is likely undergoing additional testing to uncover the extent of the calf injury. Jacob Stallings and Hunter Goodman would share time behind the plate if it's determined Diaz requires an extended absence, though it's still too early to know if he'll be placed on the injured list. • Elias Díaz out with left calf tightness
Elias Díaz left Monday’s game with a tight left calf, according to the Rockies.

Advice: This didn’t really use to be a thing, but teams these days just love calling the initial injury “tightness” before admitting to a strain (or sometimes even worse) the next day. Jacob Stallings is filling in for Díaz. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:25 pm

    • Exits early Monday
Diaz (undisclosed) was removed from Monday's contest against the Twins, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Diaz pulled up lame on a groundout in the top of the first inning, being replaced at catcher by Jacob Stallings prior to the bottom of the frame. The team will likely provide an update to Diaz's status following Monday's series opener. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:58 pm

    • Elias Díaz exits game due to leg injury
Elias Díaz left Monday’s game in the first inning with an apparent leg injury sustained running to first base.

Advice: This will probably quiet any trade talk for a while. Jacob Stallings, who has been a nice surprise in limited action this year, took over behind the plate against the Twins. If Díaz goes on the IL, the Rockies could call up another catcher, but they wouldn’t necessarily need to with Hunter Goodman capable of serving as a backup. They don’t have any other catchers on the 40-man roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:57 pm

    • Homers in loss
Maile went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Cubs.

Advice: The Reds' offense busted out the last week during the club's seven-game winning streak but was dormant Sunday. Maile launched his second homer and has hit safely in seven of the last nine games (7-for-23, .304). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:44 am

    • Sent back to Triple-A
The Phillies returned Marchan to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Advice: Marchan will head back to Lehigh Valley after he joined the Phillies over the weekend and served as the club's 27th man for its two-game set in London versus the Mets. He didn't appear in either contest and hasn't seen any big-league action since 2021. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:05 am

    • Homers, drives in four
Ruiz went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI Sunday against Atlanta.

Advice: Ruiz hammered a three-run blast in the fourth to give the Nationals a lead they would never relinquish. He later added a fourth RBI on a sac fly in the fifth that provided the Nationals with their eighth and final run of the contest. It was the fourth homer of the season for Ruiz to go along with 17 RBI and 16 runs as he's struggled to a .202 average through 163 at-bats. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:11 pm
