    • David Bednar hangs on for save against Giants
David Bednar was charged with two runs (one earned) in the 10th inning on Saturday against the Giants, but still managed to record his fifth save of the season.

Advice: Bednar got the call to protect a three-run lead in extra innings and immediately served up a two-run homer to Giants slugger Jorge Soler, which slashed the lead down to a single run. He struck out Michael Conforto before giving up a one-out single to Thairo Estrada, but managed to escape the jam by striking out LaMonte Wade Jr. and Mike Yastrzemski to end the contest. He’s converted just five of eight save chances this season and holds an inflated 11.70 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 15/3 K/BB ratio across 10 innings (12 appearances). It’s hard to draw firm conclusions based on early-season results, but Bednar has certainly struggled out of the gate. Rotoworld Today, 4:01 am
    • Stellar in second rehab outing
Woo (elbow) fired 3.1 scoreless innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma against El Paso on Saturday, allowing two hits and recording six strikeouts.

Advice: Woo was impressive for the second time in as many rehab starts, locating 31 of his 49 pitches for strikes and keeping his ERA unblemished over 6.1 rehab innings overall. Per MLB.com, Woo threw all five of his pitches and topped out at 95 mph; according to general manager Justin Hollander, the plan is for the young right-hander to make at least one more rehab start with a goal of reaching 85 pitches, after which activation from the injured list would be considered. • Bryan Woo fans six in rehab start at Triple-A
Bryan Woo (elbow) looked sharp in his second minor league rehab start at Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, piling up six strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball.

Advice: The 24-year-old right-hander allowed just two hits on the night and didn’t walk a batter, throwing 31 of his 49 total pitches for strikes. The M’s will likely want him to make at least one additional rehab start to get a bit more stretched out before he’s an option to return to their starting rotation, but the time is drawing near. He’s worth a look in any fantasy leagues where he may have been jettisoned. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 pm

    • Cranks ninth home run
O'Neill went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three runs scored in Saturday's win over the Cubs.

Advice: O'Neill got the scoring started with a blast over the Green Monster in the bottom of the first inning. It was the first home run this season for the 28-year-old that wasn't a solo shot. O'Neill also added a double, a single and a walk. Only Mike Trout (10) has gone deep more times so far this season than the Red Sox outfielder. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:49 pm

    • Hit hard in Saturday's loss
Kikuchi (2-2) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on nine hits over six innings as the Blue Jays fell 4-2 to the Dodgers. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Advice: While the southpaw did manage to keep the ball in the yard, he still gave up some very loud contact, including three extra-base hits and an RBI single by Shohei Ohtani in the second inning that left his bat with a stunning exit velocity of 119.2 mph. Kikuchi saw his quality start streak end at three, but he'll take a strong 2.94 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 36:8 K:BB through 33.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend against the Nationals. • Tyler O’Neill blasts ninth homer against Cubs
Tyler O’Neill went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three runs scored against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: O’Neill got the scoring started for the Red Sox, taking Ben Brown deep for a two-run homer in the first inning. He added a double to lead off the fifth and scored on a base hit. He singled in the eighth and crossed the plate for a third time on a double by Masataka Yoshida. The 28-year-old outfielder is off to a great start in Boston, slashing .333/.450/.758 with nine homers, 19 runs scored, and 11 RBI across 80 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

    • Yusei Kikuchi gives up four runs in loss to Dodgers
Yusei Kikuchi allowed four runs with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Advice: Kikuchi gave up too much contact that found open field against the Dodgers. He allowed a leadoff triple to Mookie Betts to start the game, who then scored on a sacrifice fly. Four base hits in the second inning would bring in two more runs for Los Angeles. Kikuchi worked around a base hit in the third, then gave up a fourth run on two hits in the fourth. He finished strong with pair of clean innings in the fifth and sixth, striking out three on the day. The 32-year-old left-hander will take a 2.94 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and a 36/8 K/BB ratio across 33 2/3 innings into a road start against the Nationals on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:59 pm
    • Jake Cronenworth not in Padres lineup on Saturday
Jake Cronenworth is absent from the Padres’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Phillies.

Advice: It appears to be nothing more than a regular day of rest for the 30-year-old infielder with left-hander Ranger Suarez toeing the slab for the Phillies. Jurickson Profar will make just his second start of the season at first base while Jose Azocar enters the lineup in left field for the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm

    • Available Saturday
Diaz (hand) is not in the starting lineup but is available as a pinch hitter for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Diaz left Friday's game after taking a 99-mph fastball off his left pinky in the eighth inning. X-rays came back negative, and while he won't start Saturday, he will be available should the Rays need a right-handed bat. With Diaz in the dugout, lefty-hitting Austin Shenton will start at first base and bat in the cleanup spot against White Sox right-hander Jonathan Cannon. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:55 pm
