    • Kyle Tucker goes deep as Astros top Rockies
Kyle Tucker smacked his sixth home run of the season on Saturday night as the Astros topped the Rockies in Mexico City.

Advice: Tucker went back-to-back with teammate Yordan Alvarez in the third inning, with Tucker’s 409-foot (97.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Cal Quantrill increasing the Astros’ lead to 4-2. He also singled, walked and scored a total of three runs in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-4. He’s having another terrific all-around season at the plate, slashing a robust .291/.402/.534 with six long balls, 18 RBI and five stolen bases through his first 27 games. • Framber Valdez to go 70-75 pitches on Sunday
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters on Saturday that Framber Valdez is expected to throw around 70-75 pitches in Sunday’s start against the Rockies.

Advice: It’s no surprise that Valdez would be a bit limited in his first start back from the injured list, so fantasy managers need to be aware that he may not stick around long enough to earn a victory. That — and the high run-scoring environment in Mexico City — may mean it’s best to leave Valdez on the bench before inserting him back into lineups for next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:57 pm

    • Taken off IL
The Astros removed Valdez (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Saturday, per the MLB transaction log.

Advice: Valdez is set to start in Sunday's game against the Rockies as part of a two-game series in Mexico City. The 30-year-old southpaw landed on the Astros' 15-day IL on April 9 due to left elbow inflammation. Valdez threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, and he will likely be on a pitch count over his first few outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:23 am

    • Astros activate Framber Valdez for Sunday return
Astros activated LHP Framber Valdez from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: It’s merely a procedural move as Valdez was set to rejoin Houston’s starting rotation to take the ball during Sunday’s series finale in Mexico City against the Rockies. The combination of some likely have some workload restrictions and Mexico City’s extremely hitter-friendly offensive environment make him a risky proposition for fantasy managers right out of the gate. • Pops homer Friday
Contreras went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 4-2 win over the Mets.

Advice: The Cardinals mustered just five hits, but Contreras and Alec Burleson provided a pair of homers to make it work. Contreras continues to play through a lingering hand injury, and while it's limited his ability to catch, he's been fine at the plate. Since the injury occurred April 3, he's gone 17-for-52 (.327) with two homers, six doubles and five RBI. For the season, he's slashing .296/.425/.563 with four homers, nine RBI, 12 runs scored, seven doubles and a stolen base over 21 contests. Contreras will continue to split time between catcher and designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:53 am
    • Picks up eighth save
Finnegan struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: He needed only six pitches, all strikes, to dispatch the middle of Miami's order. Finnegan hasn't allowed an earned run yet in April, converting all seven of his save chances on the month with a 9:4 K:BB through 9.2 innings. Hunter Harvey, who collected his eighth hold Friday with a clean eighth inning, has been more dominant to begin the season and has a 19:2 K:BB through 13 innings. For now, though, Nats manager Dave Martinez is content to let him handle highest-leverage spots while Finnegan takes care of business in the ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:53 am
    • Homers in win
Perkins went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run during the Brewers' 7-6 win over the Yankees on Friday.

Advice: Perkins' two-run shot in the third inning gave Milwaukee a 4-2 lead over the Yankees, helping the Brewers to an extra-inning victory. The 27-year-old has been a pleasant surprise for the Crew early in the year, slashing .313/.421/.500 through 76 plate appearances. His role as a near-everyday outfielder will come to an end once Christian Yelich (back) returns from the injured list, but Perkins' recent production could allow him to enter the lineup somewhat regularly even after Yelich is healthy. • Hit hard in Friday's loss
Butto (0-1) took the loss Friday as the Mets fell, 4-2, to the Cardinals, giving up four runs on four hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Homers by Alec Burleson in the second inning and Willson Contreras in the third accounted for all the damage off Butto, and were the first long balls he's served up this season. The right-hander tossed 94 pitches (56 strikes) before exiting, and while his 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 22 innings look sharp, he's walking a tightrope with his control and command -- Butto has issued at least three walks in three of his four starts, and he's hit a batter with a pitch in three straight. The 26-year-old will look for his first win of 2024 when he takes the mound next week at home against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:22 am

    • Coughs up four homers
Musgrove (3-3) allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.2 innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Phillies.

Advice: Musgrove was cursed by the long ball Friday. He gave up a leadoff shot to Kyle Schwarber to begin the game before Philadelphia crushed three more homers during a four-run third inning. Musgrove is still searching for some consistency and his ERA has shot up to 6.94 through seven starts (35 innings). While he's struck out more than five batters just one time in 2024, he set a new season best by forcing 15 whiffs Friday, including seven with the slider. Musgrove will carry a lackluster 27:13 K:BB into his next outing, which is projected to come at home against the Reds. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:30 pm
