    • Opens scoring with homer
Estrada went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Estrada opened the scoring when he took Jared Jones deep in the third inning. Estrada has gone 2-for-7 over two games since he recovered from a minor hamstring issue. The second baseman is slashing a modest .235/.255/.422 with four homers, 13 RBI, 12 runs scored and no stolen bases through 28 contests. His power is in line with previous years, but Estrada logged 20-plus steals in both 2022 and 2023, so it's a little unusual to see him getting less involved on the basepaths. • Walks four in no-decision
Elder didn't factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks against the Guardians. He struck out two.

Advice: Elder came back to earth after a dominant 2024 debut where he held the Marlins scoreless in 6.2 innings. He walked at least four batters for the ninth time in 42 career appearances but was able to keep Cleveland from notching a single extra-base hit. Elder is tentatively scheduled for a start against the Dodgers in LA on Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:30 pm
    • Michael Conforto goes 0-for-4 against Pirates
Michael Conforto finished 0-for-4 against the Pirates on Sunday, leaving him without an RBI in his last five games.

Advice: Conforto opened the season 13-for-31 with three homers, four doubles and 10 RBI in his first eight games, Since then, he’s 15-for-74 with two homers, two doubles and six RBI in 19 games. He’s been in the lineup regularly against lefties since that fast start, but that probably ought to change, given his recent results. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:05 pm
    • Abner Uribe charged with five runs in relief
Abner Uribe was charged with five runs while getting two outs Sunday against the Yankees.

Advice: This inning never should have gotten started. After Uribe walked Aaron Judge, Alex Verdugo hit a routine double-play ball, except for the fact that Judge managed to deflect the relay with his oven mitt while going into second. It should have been interference, but the umpiring crew wouldn’t make the call. Uribe went on to get Giancarlo Stanton to pop out, but he just couldn’t get the third out from there. His ERA ballooned to 6.92. There’s little doubt that it will recover, but now that he’s down to third in line for saves in Milwaukee, there isn’t much reason to roster him in mixed leagues. • Christopher Morel returns to Cubs lineup on Sunday
Christopher Morel (hip, elbow) returned to the Cubs’ starting lineup on Sunday.

Advice: Morel was pulled from Saturday’s game after colliding with teammate Alexander Canario in the outfield, but aside from being a bit banged up he’s good to go. Morel is starting at the hot corner and batting cleanup against Tanner Houck and the Red Sox on Sunday night. On the season, the 24-year-old slugger is hitting .219/.296/.365 with three homers, 12 RBI and one stolen base through 26 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:02 pm

    • Elder struggles with command in no decision
Bryce Elder allowed two runs on four hits with four walks and two strikeouts in a no-decision against the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: Elder was not particularly sharp with any of his off-speed pitches and didn’t register a single whiff with his sinker, so it was a tough pairing today. He was able to pound the strike zone with his sinker but he had just a 15 percent whiff rate overall on the day as hitters opted not to chase many of his breaking offerings. His arsenal of pitches remains underwhelming and it’s hard to start him against the Dodgers next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:57 pm
    • Good to go Sunday
Morel (hip) is starting at third base and batting cleanup Sunday against the Red Sox.

Advice: The 24-year-old collided with Alexander Canario after making a running catch in the outfield Saturday but is apparently no worse for wear. Morel fell into a 1-for-32 slump over nine contests in mid-May, but his bat has come alive over his past six games with a .781 OPS. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:34 pm

    • Makes four-inning start at Triple-A
Meyer worked four innings in his start Saturday for Triple-A Jacksonville, striking out two while giving up four earned runs on six hits and no walks.

Advice: Meyer's results in his second start with Jacksonville were less noteworthy than the fact that he pitched at all for the Triple-A club, as the organization's decision to have him take the hill this weekend suggests that he isn't viewed as a candidate to fill the rotation spot at the big-league level that recently opened up when Jesus Luzardo (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Despite Meyer's success in his three outings with the big club earlier this season (2.12 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB in 17 innings), the Marlins seem committed to keeping him on a once-a-week pitching schedule in the minors wherein he makes abbreviated starts, as the organization is keen on managing his 2024 workload coming off his August 2022 Tommy John surgery. Meyer is expected to rejoin the big-league rotation at some point in the second half of the season, though he could still operate under some restrictions with his innings or pitch counts at that time. • Resting against lefty
Sanchez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Sanchez is on the bench for the second game in a row while the Marlins face off against another left-handed starting pitcher (Patrick Corbin). With short-side platoon mate Avisail Garcia (hamstring) landing on the injured list Sunday, the newly recalled Dane Myers will replace Sanchez in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:32 am
